Deborah Dunleavy, Conservative parliamentary candidate for Bolton North East today signed up as an organ donor to show her support for National Transplant Week.
Deborah said Im particularly supportive of this as last year I lost my Uncle Bernard. Bernard Dunleavy was known to a lot of people in Bolton; he was a successful business man and also raised a lot of money for charities in his time. He sadly died whilst waiting for a liver transplant, as a match didnt become available in time.
Today Im here showing my support for Councillor David Greenhalgh who not only is my constituency chairman, but a dear friend. David is a renal patient at the Royal Bolton and currently on the transplant list.
I would encourage everyone able to do as Ive done today and sign up to be a donor
