Deborah was joined today by Eric Pickles (Shadow Secretary of State for Communites and Local Government) and Cllr John Walsh as she visited the North West Landlords Association to discuss Selective Licensing on Union Rd and other issues that affect that area of the constituency.
Deborah said "What we saw on Union Rd should shame the Labour Council. There are derelict houses and dirty streets that residents in the twenty-first century should not have to live with."
The group met Mr John O''Donnell who represents landlords across Bolton, and told them that while he was prepared to accept Selective Licencing, in his view it would not stop anti-social behaviour on Union Rd and what would solve the problem would be more Police patrols.
Deborah commented "It is a discrace that homes in Bolton should have to have metal shutters on the inside of windows. It is the most visible sign of our Broken Society that I can imagine".
