Alistair Burt MP joined Deborah on Friday as she campaigned against the Congestion Charge. Both Alistair and Deborah were at Trinity St Train Station to highlight the lack of rolling-stock that has been given to Bolton.
Speaking after the visit Deborah said "Now that 10 trains a day have been axed by Pennine Express it is important that the Government understands the current plight of Bolton's commuters. My husband commutes everyday from Bromley Cross and is unable to get a seat if he catches a train later than 640am."
Alistair commented that whilst the Government is willing to tax people off the road with its Congestion Charge, it isn't willing to increase capacity on the railways to meet current needs, never mind the increase in passengers if a Congestion Charge is introduced.
