Deborah Continues Healthy Eating Campaign

Prospective MP Deborah Dunleavy attended Thornleigh Salesian College today as she continued her campaign to encourage the young people of Bolton to eat healthily and understand where their food comes from.

The cooking demonstration to a group of 40 pupils from years 10 and 11 showed pupils how to cook a 2 course healthy meal from scratch, with a number of the children helping to prepare and cook the food.

Commenting after the event Deborah said 'It is fantastic to see young people today getting involved and being passionate about food.  This campaign is aimed at showing pupils that excellent, healthy and tasty food isn't something that can only be enjoyed in restaurants, but can be cooked everyday at home.'

An excellent early lunch of Chicken Balentine, followed by Rhubarb and Plum Cheesecake was had by all who attended, and it is hoped that some pupils might consider work experience at the Olive Press or even training to become a star Chef of the future.
