Hames Brokenshire MP, Shadow Home Office Minister Visits Bolton

James Brokenshire MP the Shadow Home Office Minister visited
Bolton with Deborah Dunleavy last week.

He praised the work being done at a drug and alcohol addiction unit in the town.

He has responsibility for substance use and anti social behaviour.

The MP wanted to find out why the unit was so successful.

Mr Brokenshire said:

“Effective drug treatment and rehabilitation is an essential tool in the fight against violent crime. There is some really positive work taking place here in Bolton. What impressed me was the focus on the abstinence-based treatment, as well as the focus on alcohol abuse. We need to ensure drug services reflect the need of the local community.

Deborah Dunleavy, the Conservative Prospective MP for Bolton North East, joined him on the visit. She said:

“This unit is doing some very impressive work and are meeting their targets, I’m really pleased James has been able to join me here today”
