Gordon Brown is beginning to sound awfully like Manuel....
It occurred to me this week how much our beleaguered Prime Minister is beginning to sound like Manuel from Fawlty Towers.
I know nothing..............hes just said again. What does he know about, other than how to save the world. It appears he is so busy saving the world he doesnt even know what his own staff are doing. For a total control freak like he is, this must have given him a rotten weekend. The alternative is he did know that his Head of Strategy and Planning Damien McBride was planning a vicious smear campaign against the Conservatives. Either way its a shocking indictment!
Are the Labour Party so desperate that they now resort to such dirty play? It seems so, and also worrying is the individuals involved such as Derek Draper husband of GMTVs Kate Garraway. Who else amongst the media was aware of these goings on? Number 10 is in desperate need of a severe clean up.
They just cant help themselves, even today Alistair Campbell is spinning in the The Times. Labour need to ask themselves what sort of a party they really are. I think most of us know the answer to that.
If as Gordon Brown said that he was totally unaware of any of these goings on, and that there is no place in politics for material such as this, then I have to be honest I find that slightly more worrying. Who is running 10 Downing Street? Why is nobody telling the PM what his Head of Strategy is upto? Who is their Basil Fawlty?
